Odeon theatre Goslar: captured before its interior disappeared
A theatre that no longer exists: there were about four days for the capture before the interior was demolished. Today the building holds apartments; only the façade still recalls the theatre.

About the project
This project shows most clearly what 3D documentation is for: there were about four days for the capture before the theatre’s interior was demolished. Whatever was not recorded in those days can no longer be recorded at all.
The entire building was captured — including the roof structure, which nobody else was allowed to enter. Inside the tour you can still look around up there.
After a construction phase lasting several years, the main building now holds apartments. The listed Art Nouveau façade was kept; everything inside is new. What the theatre looked like inside is now shown only by the tour.
For theatres, museums and historic buildings facing conversion, this is the real value of a capture: it preserves a state that would otherwise survive only in memories and a handful of photographs — as a space you can still walk through today.
